Employer Support of the Guard & Reserve (ESGR) Boss Lift 

with TN Army National Guard 278th Armored Brigade Combat Team

Captain Joseph King, Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office TSA’s Northwestern SPSC Scholarship Recipient   

Captain Joey King, Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office, graduated from the School of Police Command sponsored by Northwestern University’s Center for Public Safety and hosted by the Tennessee Highway Patrol. King was among 29 students who graduated from the 10-week class. He was chosen to attend as the Tennessee Sheriffs’ Association scholarship recipient. The School of Police Staff and Command provides upper-level college instruction in 27 core blocks of instruction and optional blocks each session. Major topics include leadership, human resources, employee relations, organizational behavior, applied statistics, planning and policy, budgeting and resource allocation. King knew the training would be challenging as he learned many aspects of police management. He felt the pressure to excel and graduated with an A average. He earned 16 college credits at Northwestern University. “I gained so much knowledge during my 10-week training period,” King said. “The training was invaluable to my future as a law enforcement supervisor. I am grateful to Sheriff Mike Fitzhugh, the Sheriff’s Command Staff and the Tennessee Sheriffs’ Association for allowing me the opportunity to attend this great training. King supervises the Judicial Services Division.

 

TSA Awards 2018 Scholarships

Sheriff Eric Watson, Bradley County, Awards Scholarships to Buckner, Choate and Jackson

Jenna Cate Carroll Buckner is the step daughter of Tim Mason. She will be attending Lee University.

Sheriff Watson presented Gabriella LaRae Choate with a $500 scholarship check toward Middle Tennessee State University. She is the daughter of K-9 Deputy, Eduardo Choate.

Emily Erin Jackson will be attending Lee University where her $500 scholarship check is to be applied. Emily is the daughter of Royce Jackson.

Sheriff Robbie Goins, Campbell County, presents Lindsay with Scholarship Check

Clayton Scott Lindsay was presented with a check of $500 to help with attending the University of Tennessee Chattanooga. He is the step-son of Captain Jeremy Goins.

Price, Royse and Tolliver awarded TSA Scholarships by Sheriff Dexter Lunceford, Carter County

Jeremiah Dalton Price was a recipient of a $500 check by Sheriff Lunceford. Jeremiah will be attending Tusculum College and is the son of Warrants Deputy April Price.

Jessica Maria Royse will be attending Tusculum College using her $500 scholarship check. Jessica is the daughter of Corrections Sgt. Kevin Royse.

Sheriff Lunceford presented Kellye Lynn Grace Tolliver with a $500 scholarship check. Kellye is a Network Administrator for Carter County Sheriff’s Office and will be attending East Tennessee State University.

 

Clay County, Sheriff Brandon Boone awards Scholarships to Boone and Coffelt

Tennessee Tech will be accepting Brittany LaShae Boone’s $500 award in the fall. She is the daughter of Sheriff Brandon Boone.

Kaylee Beth Coffelt is the daughter of Deputy Jeff Coffelt. Kaylee will be attending Volunteer State University where her $500 scholarship will be used.

Sheriff Casey Cox awarded a scholarship to Cumberland County resident Claflin

Robert Allen Claflin was presented his second $500.00 check by Sheriff Casey Cox. He will be returning to East Tennessee State University and is the son of Jail Administrator, Tim Claflin

 

Sheriff Daron Hall, Davidson County, honors Brown, Garrison, Oliver, Page and Travis

Willie Bernard Brown, a Correctional officer, was presented with a $500 check by Sheriff Hall. He will be attending Tennessee State University.

Jessica Marie Garrison is the daughter of Officer Scotty Garrison. She will be attending Cumberland University for which her $500 scholarship is to be credited.

Carube Myrsha Oliver will be continue attending Tennessee State University where she will be crediting her $500.00 Scholarship. Her mother is Jessie Oliver, case manager.

Chandon Lamar Page, son of Lawanda Page facility Jail Administrator, being presented his $500 check by Sheriff Hall. Chandon will be attending the University of Tennessee Chattanooga.

Danna Raye Travis, daughter of Marsha Travis Director of Office Standards and Accountability, was presented with a $500 check by Sheriff Hall. Danna will be a attending Tennessee Tech University.

Sheriff Jeff Bledsoe of Dickson County presents Stockman and Wine with Scholarships

Elizabeth Krystine Stockman will be using her $500 check toward Austin Peay State University. Elizabeth is the daughter of Detective Christopher Stockman.

Laura Janesa Wine, daughter of the Sheriff’s Administrative Assistant Laura Janine Wine, was awarded a $500 scholarship check by Sheriff Bledsoe. Janesa will be attending Austin Peay State University.

Dyer County Sheriff Jeff Box Presents Scholarships to Bell, Box, Box, and Rice

Kaitlyn Elizabeth Bell is presented her award of $500 for UT Knoxville. She is the daughter of Deputy Sam Bell.

Hanna Erin Box is the daughter of Sheriff Jeff Box and will be using her $500 scholarship for Dyersberg State Community College.

The University of Tennessee Martin will be accepting for a second year Hayley Nicole Box’s $500 scholarship. She is the daughter of Sheriff Jeff Box.

Leslie Allisyn Rice was presented a $500 check to attain her goals at the University of Tennessee Martin. She is the daughter of Lt. Donald Permenter.

Sheriff Tim Fuller presented the Perrys’ of Franklin County Scholarships

Presented a $500 check was Hunter Dylan Perry and he is the son of Chief Deputy Brent Perry. Hunter will be attending Motlow State Community College.

Rebecca Grace Perry also awarded a $500 check to attend Motlow State Community College. She is the daughter of Chief Deputy Brent Perry.

Gibson County Sheriff Thomas awards scholarship to Sherwood and Thomas

Michaela Renee’ Sherwood received a $500.00 scholarship to help her attend Bethel University. She is the daughter of Sentencing Clerk, Judi Sherwood.

Dylan Thomas, son of Sheriff Thomas, has been awarded a $500 check. Dylan will be attending in the fall Union University.

Sheriff Kyle Helton, Giles County, Awards TSA Scholarship to Chapman

Madalyn Grace Chapman is presented a $500 scholarship check by Sheriff Helton. Madalyn is the daughter of Chief Deputy Tommy Chapman and will be attending Martin Methodist College.

Greene County Sheriff Pat Hankins Awards TSA Scholarship to Jessie, Price, and Willett

Courtney Jessie, daughter of Senior Patrol Officer Charles Jessie, was awarded a $500 check. Courtney will use this toward her education with Lincoln Memorial University.

Chelsey Deneen Price is in her second year at Tusculum College where she will be crediting her $500.00 TSA Scholarship. Chelsey is the daughter of Patrol Sgt. Toby Price.

Jacob Daniel Willett, son of Detective Sgt. Jimmy Willett, was awarded a $500 scholarship check. Jacob will be using his award toward Tusculum College.

Hamblen County Sheriff presents check to Peralez

Kristen Elizabeth Peralez was presented with a $500 check to go toward her attendance at East Tennessee State University. Kristen is the daughter of Civil Processor Joe Peralez.

Hamilton County Sheriff Jim Hammond Awards TSA Scholarships to Marsh and Shephard

Jordan Grace Marsh is the Step-Daughter of Fugitive Detective, James Usry and daughter of Lorie. She will be attending East Tennessee State University.

Kaitlyn Marie Shepherd, a File Clerk, is the daughter of Lieutenant Shaun Shepherd and mother Lorie. She will be attending the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga for a second year where her $500 check will help her obtain her goals.

Humphreys County Sheriff, Chris Davis presents Burns with Scholarship

Ellie Anna Burns received her second $500.00 Scholarship and will be attending Nashville State Community College. Ellie is the daughter of Sheriff Davis’ Administrative Assistant, Brandy Burns.

Sheriff Marty Hinson awards Jackson County’s Carter with Scholarship

Allie Cayne Carter , daughter of Deputy Chris Carter, was awarded a $500 check by Sheriff Marty Hinson. She will be attending Union University.

Rogers receives check from Knox County, Sheriff  J. J. Jones

Sheriff Jimmy “J.J.” Jones of Knox County presenting the TSA Scholarship to recipient Cade Rogers, who will be attending the University of TN Knoxville, majoring in Business. He is the son of Jimmy and Allison Rogers, Finance Director for KCSO.

Madison County Sheriff John Mehr Awards Scholarship to Brown and Gullett

Gregory Alonzo Brown, Jr. recieves a $500 scholarship toward Jackson State Community College. He is the son of Sgt. Tammy Hudson.

Morgan Leah Gullett is the daughter of Melanie Gullett in Communications and Reserve Deputy Larry Gullett. She is using her $500 scholarship check toward the Memphis State University at Lambuth.

McMinn County Sheriff, Joe Guy presents Guy Scholarship

William Henry Guy, son of Sheriff Joe Guy, will be attending Cleveland State Community College where he will use his $500 scholarship.

Sheriff Jackie Melton of Meigs County awards Wiggins Scholarship

Macy Renee’ Wiggins was presented a $500 scholarship check by Sheriff Melton. Macy is the daughter of Lt. Detective Scotty Wiggins and will be attending Lee University.

Sheriff Holt, Robertson County, issuing Kaelin McGhee a Scholarship check

Sheriff Holt issuing Kaelin Shaun McGhee his $500 scholarship check. Kaelin will be using this toward his education at the University of TN Chattanooga.

Briana Renee Chapple is the daughter of Shanette R. Chapple, with Communications. She was awarded a $500.00 TSA Scholarship for a second year to attend the Tennessee State University.

 

 

Xavier Emir Dotson is the son of Deputy William Dotson, III. He received a second $500.00 TSA scholarship that will go toward his attendance to the University of Tennessee of Chattanooga.

Kirklynn Dorothy Fields has received her $500 award to attend her second year of the University of Tennessee of Knoxville. Kirklynn is the daughter of Chief Kirk Fields.

Bailey Nicole Grimes will be using her $500 scholarship at the University of Memphis. She is the daughter of Patrolman Christopher Grimes.

Mikaela Danielle Houston was presented with a scholarship check for the University of Memphis. She is the daughter of Deputy Gerre Houston.

Matthew Miller Jewell was presented with a $500 check to help with attendance at to the University of Memphis. He is the son of Patrolman Robert Jewell, Sr…

Maraya Antoinette Reaves was presented with a $500 check to help with attending the University of Tennessee Knoxville. Maraya is the daughter of Detective Terry Love.

Kaitlyn Alexandria Thompson received a $500.00 TSA scholarship and will be attending her second year at Austin Peay State University. Kaitlyn is the daughter of Breon Menzie-Williams, Jail Processing Specialist.

Jordyn Alexandria Vance will be attending the University of Memphis. She is the daughter of Chief Inspector Jail Division Angela Mayes and Patrolman Paul Vance.

Hannah Nicole Walton received her scholarship $500 check to help with attending the University of Tennessee Chattanooga. She is the daughter of Deputy Chauncey Walton.

Austin is the son of Donald Scott Wright, Assistant Chief Deputy. Austin Scott Wright will be attending his second year at University of Tennessee Knoxville, with a $500.00 scholarship.

Corrections Deputy Jailer Wesley Young, Sr. is the father of Mykenzi Kathleen Young has received a $500 scholarship check. This will help with her attendance at the University of Tennessee Chattanooga.

 

Sullivan County Sheriff Wayne Anderson awards Scholarship to Meade

Ashley Yvonne Meade was the recipient of a $500.00 TSA scholarship is in her second year at the University of Tennessee Knoxville. She is the daughter of Lt. David Meade.

 

 

Sumner County Sheriff, Sonny Weatherford awards Scholarships to Cannon, Morris, and Williams

Conner Jordon Cannon received a $500 scholarship to help with attending Bethel University. His mother is Corrections Officer Billie Cannon.

Rachel Lynn Morris is the daughter of Patrol Captain Anthony Wingert. Ms. Morris will be attending Middle Tennessee State University.

Sheriff Weatherford presented a $500 scholarship check to Daja Arianna Nicole Williams. She will be continuing her degree after the army and will be attending Belmont University. Daja is the daughter of Warrants Officer David Williams.

Tipton County Sheriff, Pancho Chumley Awards Scholarship to Chumley

Tucker Drew Chumley, son of Sheriff Pancho Chumley, received a $500 check to the University of Memphis.

Weakley County Chief Deputy Black Awards Wright with TSA Scholarship

Anna Dale Wright will be attending the University of Tennessee at Martin where she is applying her $500 scholarship check. Her mom is Warrants Clerk Sherrie Wright. Anna Dale is receiving her scholarship award from Chief Deputy Mark Black.

 

Sheriff Jeff Long, Williamson County, Awards TSA scholarships to Frantz and Burns

Angel Burns is the daughter of Court Officer, Joe Burns. She will be using her $500 scholarship, presented by Sheriff Long, toward Columbia State Community College.

Aubrey Louise Frantz is the daughter of Jack Frantz, SRO Division SGT. Aubrey was awarded a $500.00 scholarship to help her attend her second year at Christian Brothers University.

Sheriff Robert Bryan of Wilson County Awards Scholarships to Graves, Hamblen, Hudgens, Johnson, Miller, Moore, and York

Sheriff Bryan presented Trent Michael Graves with a $500 check to help with attending TN Tech. Trent is the son of Lt. Barry Graves.

Andrew Michael Hamblen was presented with his $500 scholarship by Sheriff Bryan to attend Middle Tennessee State University. Andrew is the son of SRO, Cpl. James Glenn Hamblen.

Erin Shannah Hudgens, daughter of SRO Deputy James B. Hudgens, received her $500 scholarship award from Sheriff Bryan. She will be attending Cumberland University.

Alaina Faith Johnson, the daughter of Marsha and Detective Jeff Johnson, was presented with a $500 check by Sheriff Bryan. Alaina will be attending the University of Tennessee Chattanooga.

Autumn Nicole Miller was awarded her $500 check to attend Cumberland University. Autumn is the daughter of Sgt. Hank Miller, SRO Supervisor , SRT Commander.

Makenna Celeste Moore is the daughter of Lt. Scott Moore. Her $500 scholarship check will be helping with Makenna’s endeavors toward Tennessee Tech University.

Brandon Lee York accepted a $500 scholarship check from Sheriff Bryan. This will will go toward his education at Cumberland University. Brandon is the son of Deputy Tony York.
